Basic Operation

This chapter covers battery installation, button functions, indicator lights, data transfer, battery charging, firmware upgrade, and usage precautions for the Lixel L2 Pro.

Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery lock lever.
  2. Insert the battery into the base of the device along the guide slot and make sure it is fully seated.
  3. Press the lever back to lock the battery.

Note

Failure to lock the battery may cause the device to slip.

Button Functions

FunctionButton operationDevice status
Power OnPress and hold for 4sThe indicator changes from slow-flashing blue to solid green, and the device enters standby mode.
Power OffPress and hold for 4sWhen the device is in standby mode, press and hold for 4s. The indicator changes from solid green to flashing white while the system saves data, and power-off is complete when the indicator turns off.
Start ScanningDouble-clickWhen the device is in standby mode, double-click the button. The indicator changes from solid green to fast-flashing green, then slow-flashing green, and the LiDAR starts rotating, indicating scanning has started successfully and the device is in scanning mode.
Stop ScanningDouble-clickWhen the device is in scanning mode, double-click the button. The indicator changes from slow-flashing green to fast-flashing green, then solid green, and the LiDAR stops rotating, indicating scanning has stopped successfully and the device is in standby mode.
Control Point CollectionSingle-clickWhen the device is in scanning mode, single-click the button. The indicator stays solid for about 1s and then returns to slow-flashing green, indicating the control point was recorded successfully.
Switch to USB modeSingle-click + white LED + single-clickWhen the device is in standby mode, single-click the button; the indicator turns white for up to 3s. While the light is white, single-click again to switch to USB mode. If there is no button action within 3s, the device stays in the current mode. When the device is in USB mode, single-click the button; the indicator turns white for 3s. While the light is white, single-click again to switch to standby mode. If there is no button action within 3s, the device stays in the current mode.

Note

  • Before starting a scan, place the device on a flat surface; after starting, wait for the LiDAR to rotate and for the app to indicate that initialization is complete before moving the device to scan.
  • During the stop-scanning process, a fast-flashing green light means the device is saving the scan file. Cutting power at this point may cause the file to be lost or saved incompletely.
  • After scanning stops, the fast-flashing green light may last a while; the duration depends on the size of the scanned scene.

Data Transfer

Use the supplied USB 3.1 cable to connect the device to a computer while it is in standby, then switch to USB mode via the app or the shortcut key. Once the device is recognized, you can copy the data.

Note

  • USB mode turns off automatically after a restart.
  • After USB mode is enabled, if you want to continue scanning, you must turn off USB mode manually or restart the device.
  • Using another USB cable may slow down data transfer, or cause a situation where copying works when the connector is inserted one way but not when reversed.

Battery Charging

img005.png

Use the supplied charging cable to connect the charging adapter to the battery and plug it into a power outlet; the handle battery flashing means it is charging normally. Single-click the button on the battery to show the battery level. Charging time: about 2 hours. During charging, the indicator light shows the current battery level; see the table below for details. You can also check more accurate battery information in LixelGO.

Firmware Upgrade

You can upgrade the device firmware as prompted by the app. There are two types of firmware upgrade: full-package and incremental. Incremental upgrades can be applied directly to the device from the app. If the app prompts that a full-package upgrade is needed, the process is as follows:

  1. Download the required full-package firmware from the official website (a full package is usually larger than 1 GB).
  2. Switch the device to USB mode and copy the firmware to the root directory of the device disk.
  3. Power off the device and restart it. After restarting, it automatically enters firmware upgrade mode.

Usage Precautions

  • The Lixel L2 Pro is a precision surveying and mapping device. Drops or external impacts may damage the device, causing malfunction or accuracy that falls short of expectations.
  • After the Lixel L2 Pro is turned on, make sure the rotating LiDAR is not obstructed by external forces and that the LiDAR and camera fields of view are not blocked, otherwise mapping may fail and colorization may be abnormal.
  • Using the metal base included with the L2 Pro effectively ensures the device's initialization accuracy; uneven ground can cause the device to wobble, which may lead to initialization failure or increased mapping thickness.
  • When using the device, avoid rotating or shaking it quickly or vigorously; heavy shaking may cause mapping to fail or reduce mapping accuracy.
  • The Lixel L2 Pro has an IP54 protection rating. Do not use it in environments beyond this rating. Use a soft dry cloth or the provided cleaning cloth to clean the device; keep the LiDAR and lens clean and do not touch them directly with your hands.
  • Do not block the heat dissipation area during use. Severe obstruction of the heat dissipation area greatly reduces cooling efficiency and can cause the device to shut down automatically.
